Brain Age is one of the most bizarre...experiences I've had. I don't think you can really call it a game, because it is more of an uber-interactive IQ test. Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, a neuroscientist overseas in Japan, has a theory that the brain is at its highest peak at age 20, and from then on out, it slowly begins to whither away. This is a game that is supposed to "train" your brain by doing simple exercises every day. The longer it takes you, or the more problems you miss or do not-so-good on influence the final scores when the game literally calculates the age of your brain(I'm sitting on 48 and not happy about it).
Like most of the DS games, however, you have to motivate yourself to keep it going. You miss one day, and your scores will show it(unless you're exercising your brain elsewhere, of course). It's quirky, it's smart, and it is actually very fun. If you have a Nintendo DS, this is a game that you have to at least try, and with a $19.99 price tag, there really is no reason not to train your brain! |

| Brain Age is a great game if you want to "train your brain". But if you actually want to play a game, you may want to find something else. The game is more of an IQ test, and tests how "old" your brain is. Every couple of days you can unlock a new mini-game, which makes it a little fun. But wonce you unlock all of the mini-games, it's rather boring. Overall, Brain Age is an good game, but not reccomended. |
